Machine Learning using Galaxy a webinar / workshop series
Date: 22 - 26 June 2020
This workshop intends to facilitate the training and discourse amongst researchers interested in machine learning using Galaxy. It will be a one-week event, including webinar sessions in which we will introduce machine learning backgrounds and train researchers to use Galaxy for machine learning analysis. Every webinar session will be followed by a self-training day, in which experts will answer questions in a support channel and support on a peer-to-peer basis.
The programme will include:
Introduction to the Galaxy data analysis platform
Machine learning 101
Regressor (linear, non-linear and ensemble models)
Classifiers (logistic regression, k-nearest neighbours, support vector machines and random forest)
Feature selection methods
Clustering (Hierarchical, K-means and DBSCAN)
Hyper-parameter optimization
The workshops will make use of the European Galaxy server and the Galaxy Training Material. Both will stay accessible and open after the training.
Time committment
Each training is building on-top of each other and should be followed in order. We are aware that it might be hard to find time to attend the live webinars, due to homeschooling or other obligations.
The webinars and demonstrations will be recorded and made available online to replay them at any time. Moreover, there will be a help and support channel running 24h a day, spanning multiple timezones, to help participants as much as possible to align this workshop with their schedule. Please let us know if you want to participate but facing any other issue.
