Explore gene expression across species with Expression Atlas
Date: 26 June 2019 @ 09:00 - 17:00
Expression Atlas is an open resource that incorporates high quality gene expression data from ArrayExpress as well as other data archives and sources. Our mission is to provide the scientific community with a tool that allows users to visualise the abundance and localisation of gene and protein expression data across over 60 different species and thousands of different biological conditions. Expression Atlas aims to help answer questions such as "where is my favourite gene expressed?" or "how does expression of my favourite gene change in response to disease?"
The webinar will guide users through:
- Introduction to baseline data which investigate gene expression under normal conditions (without experimental interference)
- Introduction to differential data which explore gene expression changes in response to perturbations such as disease or compound treatment
- Searching for specific genes and conditions
- Advanced features: visualising gene information within the Ensembl genome browser; identifying similarly expressed genes to your gene of interest; view variable gene expression and transcript information
